We’re building a new social publishing team at CBSi. Our mission is to extend our audience by rethinking the way we publish, prioritizing mobile and social channels. We are seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented designer with strong interactive experience to join our Design Team in San Francisco and help us launch this new site. The product designer will work on product feature design & optimization initiatives across web, mobile and native environments. You will partner with the Product, engineering and editorial teams to shape how we create, test and optimize features, that deliver elegant and simple-to-use interfaces to delight our customers. We are looking for someone who is able to transform complex concepts into simple, approachable interactive experiences that are easy to use and visually balanced across any device. Key Responsibilities: · Be an advocate for the user in the execution of high-fidelity mockups and interaction flows · Support the implementation of the overarching user experience design direction for a brand new site on all platforms · Participate in ongoing discussion with product, engineering and other team partners to develop new solutions to complex discovery / consumption problems and bring them to life. · Create different levels of design documentation, including: sketches, user flows, wireframes, and final visual design deliverables along with user interaction specifications · Articulate the rationale of design from both a user-centered focus and business perspective to both internal and external stakeholders · Work with development teams to ensure designs are implemented at the highest quality · Quickly adapt to fast moving timelines and variable project requirements Requirements: Qualifications: · An amazing portfolio that can be viewed online. Any applicant without an online portfolio will not be considered. · 2 – 3 years of professional work experience. · A strong sense of UX and visual design, with an eye for simple-to-use interfaces. · Ability to work within constraints, while maintaining consistency throughout designs. · Ability to rapidly prototype and quickly go from mockups to implementation for experiences on ALL screens. · Ability to manage time and multiple deadlines effectively. · Strong attention to pixel-level detail and craftsmanship. · Experience in designing responsive web initiatives using pattern design fundamentals that can scale from mobile to desktop · Expertise in analyzing and optimizing user workflows and tasks, and identifying ways to simplify processes · Ability to translate business and brand goals into innovative, meaningful and differentiated digital experiences · Ability to be both hands-on and provide clear direction to others · Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery Experience playing/understanding · Full knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. · Must successfully pass a background check CBS Interactive, a division of CBS Corporation, is the premier online content network for information and entertainment.
