The Lead Interactive Designer is responsible for creating innovative interactive and visual design concepts for the digital medium including websites, mobile/tablet devices, and social platforms and leading more junior members of the design team through the production and realization of those concepts.

This person will serve as a lead visual and UX designer on various online projects, providing initial brainstorming and strategy through front-end implementation, with design opportunities ranging from adaptive creative campaigns, responsive email development to online product centers and microsites. The Designer must have the ability to combine strong concepting skills with creative design & execution. Solutions should demonstrate a thoughtful approach to strategy and the brand promise.

The Lead Designer must also understand the aspects and steps of the creative process in building interactive design solutions. This includes experience in executing concept sketches, information design hierarchy, wireframes, hi-fidelity wireframes, Photoshop comps, and optimized graphics production; all while supporting, leveraging, and enhancing the online brand standards. Working interdependently with other team members on key initiatives to ensure that the creative execution maintains a strong, consistent look and feel will be essential.

The Lead Designer must maintain a basic understanding of the business teams marketing objectives, and work to drive the business through effective design and supporting a unique and differentiated experience. Ability to convert creative strategy into compelling design treatments will be essential. Partnering with other designers with projects as needed.

The lead designer will actively participate in creative shaping meeting as well as present design concepts during creative reviews. Must have the flexibility to understanding and apply feedback. This person will also work closely with the account services team to be balance client expectations, requirements and schedules.

Essential Skills Required: In order of importance, list skills or talents which a qualified incumbent should possess (e.g., computer literacy, subject knowledge, etc.).

- Bachelors degree required; degree in visual communications, design or human-computer interaction strongly preferred.
- Expert level knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Javascript knowledge a plus.
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Strong online portfolio with examples of digital projects demonstrating creative thinking and flawless execution
- Experience designing across multiple platforms and/or devices.
- Experience working directly with developers.
- Have strong project managements skills and be able to move quickly and comfortably between multiple projects.
- Ability to create solutions from design concept through final execution.
- Must be motivated, highly organized, flexible during peak workload, detail oriented.
- Above all, must have great sense of humor as well as a sense of urgency.
