Interactive Designer

National leader in higher education and career services is looking for an Interaction Designer for the Creative/Marketing in-house shop in Manhattan. Strong typography skills, in addition to web/interaction design are a must!

Responsibilities:

Conceptualize, develop, and produce a range of interactive projects including websites, mobile sites, banner ads, interactive campaigns and other digital solutions

Advocate for projects and initiatives from concept through production

Interact with internal clients; work closely with marketing, UX/UI, product and production teams to develop and implement design solutions

Manage own project priorities while coordinating with project teams and management on schedules, requirements, goals and assignments as needed

Help to ensure successful representation of the Kaplan brand across media channels

Manage various projects and handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced, agency-like environment


Qualifications:

Outstanding portfolio demonstrating solid graphic design skills and understanding of web design principles, functionality, and usability

A sophisticated understanding and use of web typography, including experience with @font-face and Typekit

Ability to organize and deliver multiple design elements of complex, large-scope projects

Proficiency in the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; After Effects and 3D experience a plus

Knowledge of development languages and processes (HTML, CSS, XML, AJX, jQuery and PHP) a plus

Strong concept development and problem-solving skills

Advanced verbal and written communication skills
