Interactive Designer

Vitamin T Client is looking for a Interactive Designer with 1-3+ years of experience. Portfolios should show a strong web/digital presence, no coding experience required. This is a stable, low key and on going site maintenance role split between web design and web production. Candidate will work with a small team of developers, a project manager, IA in an agile development process. This opportunity is a "permalance" position and qualified candidate can expect a 6-12 month on-site contract.

The User Experience group is a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, strategists, designers, copywriters, producers, project managers and developers who collaborate closely with each other and with business technology, product management and other partners throughout the company to create innovative and usable digital products and services.

Reporting to the Creative Director and Executive UX Director and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, the designer supports interactive design needs for existing and new College Board digital properties. Working within our brand design standards, the candidate would design layouts and produce the graphics needed to support our network of sites.

The ideal candidate is organized and has good attention to detail. This candidate should possess a professional and positive attitude and be a proactive self-starter.

The designer will:

• Extend design templates and enhance existing sites following approved wireframes
• Source photos and create standalone graphics and illustrations according to project needs
• Create landing pages, rich emails and ad banners
• Optimize graphics and release clean, annotated PSD files to technical development
• Work closely with the Creative Director and the project manager to ensure brand integrity and that project requests and goals are accurately executed
• Assist developers in the QA and HTML production process

Education/ Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or new media
• 2-4 years of experience in interactive design (agency experience a plus)
• Thorough understanding of online production
• Knowledge of user-centered design process, Web best-practices and relevant disciplines including information architecture, interaction design and visual design
• Ability to design within the scope of our visual brand aesthetic and specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Related Skills & Other Requirements:
• Mastery of Adobe CS5—Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign required
• Basic Flash animation skills required
• Knowledge of Adobe Fireworks a plus
• Video optimization skills a definite plus
• HTML and Dreamweaver skills and working knowledge a definite plus
• Ability to work on deadlines in a rapid paced environment
• Ability to work independently and work as part of a team
• Must be organized with good attention to detail
• Strong task and time management skills

Must submit a creative portfolio including links to projects where candidate participated in an applicable role.
