Interactive Art Director

Works under the direction of the Digital Creative Director to generate highly creative, strategic and workable solutions for client’s marketing needs, including; all stages of design development from ideation roughs through the execution of finished products. Contributes to the development of concepts and works with the production department to produce marketing and promotional elements including, print ads, direct mail, packaging, signage, event materials, web pages, mobile apps and implementation guides. Interaction Art Director is also responsible for overseeing and working with Studio and/or Interactive production through execution

JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Creative Director
Regular and ongoing interactions with people at all levels but directly with Creative Director, Art Directors, Writers, Studio Production, Web Production, Art Buyer.

External: Freelancers, Photographers, Illustrators, Print or Web Vendors

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Generates compelling designs that communicate clearly and effectively in all mediums.
• Provides quality assurance – paying close attention to detail.
• Working with the full creative team and design studio to generate compelling marketing solutions.
• Adapts design style to suite a variety of clients’ individual personality/brand needs.
• Prioritizes and organizes messages into logical hierarchies.
• Have the ability to solve problems through design and execution.
• Has the ability to render thumbnail sketches and rough presentation layouts.
• Presents work approach/rationale effectively to internal resources.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Minimum 4 year Degree, Bachelor of Fine Arts. - A Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field

Experience
• Experience with marketing/advertising agency is a plus

Job Knowledge
• Working knowledge of promotional strategies and tactics is essential.
• Experience in Interactive Marketing and Interface Design
• Extensive training in graphic design, typography, interaction design and/or visual communications
• In-depth understanding of interactive usability principles, responsive design, HTML, CSS, FLASH and capabilities of web browsers across platforms is essential
• Works well in a team-based environment - with freelance writers, designers, photographers, developers, user experience architects and illustrators.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, FLASH on a Mac Operating System.


Interpersonal Skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Some travel involved to Client location or work offsite.
• Works under frequent time pressures and distractions.
• Mostly sedentary work requiring the ability to talk, hear and see involving repetitive computer activities.
