Interactive Art Director

Art Directors live and breath digital. Their work is original and smart, exhibiting passion and a thorough understanding of how interactive experiences should look, feel and function. They are hands-on leaders who take complete ownership of projects and client relationships from start to finish. Working with supportive project teams, Art Directors are the creative force that ensures creative directors’ visions are realized, and strategists insights are applied. And while they effectively adhere to budgets and timelines, they are completely at home pushing boundaries and exploring new techniques. They are inspired by industry trends, up-to-speed on the latest applications and software, and eager to share their knowledge and passion.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• leading the design input, executing design directions, and managing the design process
• seeing and communicating the artistic vision of the team and client
• effectively inspiring the team and the client through ideas, designs and quality mindsets
• translating client business goals into intelligent user experience recommendations
• seeing and communicating the the artistic vision of the team and client
• juggling multiple assignments easily
• proactively identifying needs and potential issues — thinking ahead
• collaborating with other creatives, project managers, and developers to deliver a flawless product
• manage and mentoring other designers
• recognizing and acquiring new design talent for the team.

SKILLS & TALENTS:
• expert knowledge of current interactive design trends and techniques
• expert understanding of information architecture and user experience
• expert knowledge of Adobe CS5 Suite, and the ability to share it
• basic knowledge of print production setup and printing oversight
• basic knowledge of digital printing and variable data considerations
• expert knowledge of all color space considerations
• strong people management skills
• strong presentation skills including persuasive speaking
• proficiency in HTML/CSS/JS and development considerations
• proficiency in Flash/After Effects and motion design
• experience managing photographers and illustrators


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• 5+ years experience defining and driving the design process and direction of both small and large interactive projects for Web and other digital media
• experience creating and designing interactive campaigns across multiple platforms
• experience managing and directing designers and other team members
• exceptional portfolio of recognizable work expertly executed in a range of design skills and styles
