Interaction Designer, User Experience

Our client is looking for an Interaction Designer for a 6 month contract (possibly longer). You must have conceptual knowledge (not website or mobile concepts) but who thinks in the mind of conception. The right person for this position will have product development. Sound like you?

Responsibilities & Activities:
• Develop new use cases combining multiple technical capabilities on mobile devices solving user needs
• Develop a conceptual framework to think about use cases/ user experience for mobile devices
• Illustrate and visualize these use cases through storyboards, animated sketches, videos etc.
• Develop detailed UX requirements for enabling the use cases, including task flows, envision new customer journeys etc.
• Highlight technologies needed to enable this UX
• Conceptualize new business models & partnerships needed to enable the new UX
• Communicate new concepts and ideas effectively to a wide internal audience including product management and engineering team
• Leverage qualitative and quantitative user research to create rationale for use cases
• Conduct secondary research on understanding technology and business model trends in next 3-5 years
• Develop a repository /database of developed use cases that can be used by the team

Technology Skills:
• Good systems level understanding of technology components and how they fit together to make great products
• Some background in technology product management would be a plus
• You love technology (beyond the web/apps & more into hardcore guts of devices/systems) and strive to understand how it works with design.

Research & Design Skills;
• 3+ years as a use case specialist developing use cases and requirements for physical products.
• You may have been trained as a designer, have a background in service or organizational design, and/or developed other skillsets that allow you to think strategically and systematically to create scalable design opportunities at every level.
• You are an expert at translating observations into insights.
• You love consumer behavior and psychology
• You devour secondary data like crazy and synthesize findings quickly
• You love ambiguous problems and are able to capture a clear and concise experience strategy
• You hold human desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability in equal weight on a design project.

Design Skills:
• 3+ years as a design strategist in a product based design consultancy
• You play between strategy and UX.
• You are a maker.
• You are a visual thinker and adept at communicating via various creative software platforms and/or media (from sketches to animations)

Business Skills:
• An excellent communicator, who understands how device businesses are run and is fluent in the latest device, SW and OS related technologies.
• You have examples of problem solving where you have lead organizations to arrive at successful design solutions.
• You come from a collaborative, interdisciplinary background, yet you are inclusive, understanding, and appreciative of teams that don't have this exposure.
• You like ambiguity yet act decisively, and are able to coach others through an ambiguous process.
• You get energy from developing and facilitating workshops and creative sessions
• You thrive in making the complex simple and digestible
