Interaction Designer

As an Interaction Designer, you’ll design and build rapid user experience prototypes to test with users and incorporate their feedback to optimize workflows and guide product development.
You’ll craft micro-interactions to delight users while focusing on macro-interactions for optimal task completion.

Responsibilities:
-Transform complex ideas and concepts into beautiful, functional, and surprisingly simple design solutions.
-Design user experiences from low-fidelity sketches to hi-fidelity pixel perfect mockups.
-Create rapid prototypes to validate design concepts with stakeholders and customers.
-Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure the overall design is consistent with established styles and usability best practices.
-Champion and use principles of usability and user-centered design and know when it's ok to violate those principles.

Minimum Qualifications:
-At least 5 years of experience in user experience design
-Strong portfolio of interactive web app (e.g. Rich Internet Applications - RIA) prototypes.
-Demonstrate skillS using HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Framer.js, UXPin, AfterEffects, or other prototyping tools.
-Working knowledge of functional animation and the importance of transition states in a dynamic data-driven user experience.
-Experience with Sketch (preferred), Illustrator, and/or Photoshop.
-BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or commensurate experience.
-Enthusiasm for an iterative design process, driven by group critique.
-Deep understanding of information design / architecture, gestalt principles, and user psychology.
-Technical understanding of interface design in an Agile development environment.
-Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs clearly.
-Ability to manage time wisely across projects and competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and be accountable for work.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Champion user and UX advocacy in the face of competing priorities.
-Proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, digital art, a sensitivity to typography, color, layout, and a general awareness of materials/textures.
-Knowledge of data visualization principles and visual-cognitive system.
-Comfortable working with JSON data structures.
-Knowledge of approaches to scalable/modular CSS and preprocessors like SCSS & LESS.
-Comfortable with Git version control workflows.

Portfolio should include:
--Pen/paper sketches and ideations
--Wireframes
--Interactive mockups using modern tools: Framer.js, UXPin, Pixate, Invision, Principle, Proto.io, etc…
--Workflow diagrams
--Information architecture diagrams
--User case studies
--User research
--Personas
--Polished data visualizations
--Polished pixel perfect mockups
