Interaction Designer

A large Utilities client in the downtown Atlanta area is looking for an Interaction Designer who has a strong visual portfolio and a keen understanding of UX methodologies. This position will be responsible for the user interface design on several projects. Deliverables will range from wireframes, visual design, to functional front-end code. The work will be focused on designing responsive web applications in both agile and waterfall processes. To excel you’ll need a solid understanding of UI best practices, UX methodologies, usability testing, responsive web design techniques, and the ability to execute your design recommendations in code.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create design deliverables such as wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity comps, style guides, and html prototypes
• Work directly with requirements analysts to create wireframes used in final development
• Implement approved design recommendations in HTML & CSS
• Work directly with back-end developers to ensure that the user interface is integrated as-intended
• Troubleshoot and resolve any user interface defects between browsers
• Research interaction design trends

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Degree in interaction design, multimedia design, computer science, human computer interaction, or similar training. Additional certifications in user interface development are a plus

Experience
• At least 5+ years of user interface design for software, web applications, and/or native applications
• Strong background implementing projects using interface design patterns and user-centered design methodologies
• Creating wireframes, high-fidelity visual comps, and html prototypes
• Working knowledge of Bootstrap or other responsive frameworks

Skills
• Ability to thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction
• Exceptional observation and listening skills; ability to recognize user experience needs and convert into product design
• Ability to work well with a team; values the project, company and co-workers
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong design skills, production value, and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
