Interaction Designer

Our agency client is seeking an Interaction Designer to lead complex, workflow-driven interaction design projects. This contract is slated to start immediately and end in late July and require that you are onsite at our clients office in downtown Seattle. Candidates must have previous client consulting experience with a track record of delivering evidence-driven design solutions on-time and on-budget. This position requires deep interaction design experience for all areas of software design focused on mobile, desktop and web applications. Your portfolio must reflect extensive experience and examples of requirements analysis, wireframes, screen flow diagrams and documentation of screen-level interactions.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluating client’s functional and business requirements.
Conducting primary and secondary user research to evaluate user needs.
Usability evaluations of existing systems and competitive research.
Interaction design, information architecture, system vocabulary, task flows, workflows, navigation systems, and detailed wireframe prototypes.
Documenting screen-level interactions.
Presenting and justifying designs to clients on a regular basis.
Developing paper prototypes for usability testing.
Creating project-specific user experience guidelines that assist clients in making future design decisions.
Working with content writers, visual designers, and software developers to ensure a smooth transition of design into development.

Job Qualifications

At least 3 years experience as a UX designer working on digital products
Education in user-centered design or ability to display a formal understanding of UCD theory and practice.
Ability to combine user goals and business goals to create a viable user experience.
Working knowledge of various technology constraints/capabilities.
Experience with a range of software development practices, including agile and use-case based methods.
Superlative presentation and written communication skills.
Experience working directly with clients in a consulting role, including leading client meetings.
In-depth knowledge of the latest design and prototyping tools
Ability to drive to client meetings on a regular basis.
