Our client, a dynamic start-up located in Mid-town, Toronto is seeking an Interaction Designer/UX Designer to guide the implementation of innovative and engaging online experiences.

This person will bridge the gap between front end development and design. Although you will be required to do some hand-coding in HTML/CSS, the most important aspect of this role is a true passion for user experience and a vision to create this.

As part of the user experience team, you will work closely with visual/UX designers and a larger team of product managers, external clients, engineers and many internal stakeholders to create the next generation of products.


○ Skills in Photoshop and other graphic design software
○ Ability to sketch, wireframe and prototype interactions and iterate on those through internal feedback and user testing
○ Strong technical ability to assess risks, scope and obstacles, as they relate to front-end implementation, early on in a project
○ Provide clear direction on implementation strategies and offer proactive feedback to other developers to keep work on budget and schedule
○ Ability to provide accurate time and resource estimates
○ Flexible and inventive in utilizing various technologies to solve human problems
○ Web-savvy and abreast of the latest developments, events and standards within the web industry
○ Working knowledge of accessibility standards - particularly U.S. Section 508 compliance
○ Value the insights of others and strive to understand and empathize with clients/users/stakeholders to ensure our solutions are valuable and relevant
○ Javascript, jQuery and AJAX skills are merited, while hand-coding in HTML/CSS is a requirement*

○ 3+ years of experience developing front end solutions in a fast-paced environment
○ Wide-ranging portfolio of projects that display CSS/HTML skills, layout and interaction design/development skills
○ Background and/or experience in any of the following are merited: User Experience, HCI, psychology, information architecture, etc.
