Interaction Designer

We are seeking an Interaction Designer to join our team to design awesome software products that users will love. You will work alongside software engineers, product managers, visual designers and end users to produce and present relevant designs to our customers. Whether it is a sketch or a mockup, we need someone who is creative and passionate about design for software products.

Mission of an Interaction Designer

An Interaction Designer is primarily responsible for creating, producing, and maintaining all product information hierarchy, conceptual artifacts, and documentation of a product solution. They will work with key members of the product team to envision solutions with the product development team in a fast-paced, build-measure-learn cycles. They will also be responsible for validating the design with client and users iteratively as the product is developed.

Core Responsibilities
Work with teams to define, conceptualize, and create excellent product experience outcomes.
Work with customers/business users, as well as internal stakeholders to develop IxD and product requirements.
Ideate, conceptualize, and produce project deliverables such as information architectures, concept diagrams, personas, scenarios, and annotated wireframes/mocks.
Facilitate product discussions and design studios with product team, clients, and users.
Clearly communicate experience design and its value, and be able to collaborate with engineering teams to get the right product built.
Work closely with project managers and clients to ensure designs clearly support the product’s business and user goals.
Be able to handle multiple projects, while embodying the work ethic and personality that thrives in a fast-paced organization with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

*Note: This person may also be expected to work with multiple product development teams concurrently.

Required Experience and Skills
Minimum 5 years of professional Interaction Design experience for software, complex applications.
Bachelor’s in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related field or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in attitudinal user research methods learn user needs, wants, and goals.
Proficiency in behavioral user research methods to validate a product.
Proficiency in participatory user research methods to work together to design solutions with users.
Knowledge and understanding of IxD patterns and UCD methodologies.
Understanding and awareness of how IxD is evolving – we want you to understand what is feasible to create with current technologies, design using current guidelines, and be aware of emerging trends.
Ability to quickly understand and articulate interactions in a complex technical environment.
Ability to clearly communicate your ideas to a wide variety of key stakeholders to create shared understanding.
Strong background creating product documentation and deliverables using design tools such as Sketch, InVision, Axure, Balsamiq, Photoshop, Fireworks, or Illustrator.
Baseline understanding of Agile, Lean, Kanban, and Lean Start-Up methodologies.
