Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Interaction Designer for a 12–month assignment.

This client is developing an innovative platform that has the power to alter the way we purchase things. This new system brings 3D imaging and modeling technologies together with data science to create a seamless experience for consumers. They have already developed early hardware and software prototypes and are looking for talented individuals to help them advance the system further. In this role you'll be a critical member of a fast-paced cross-functional startup team and must thrive in a high energy, time-constrained, multitasking environment.

In this Interaction Designer role, you’ll tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs for billions of people around the world—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups, visual designs and prototypes. At each stage, you will anticipate what users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product surprises and delights them.

Overall Responsibilities:
- Create new designs, including user flows, wireframes, mocks, and prototypes, and communicate design intent to both internal and external teams.
- Rationalize and justify design work and advocate for user needs.
- Work closely with user researchers to better inform designs through users’ point of view.
- Deliver the designs for each release by following through on details with the Engineering team and driving fit-and-finish polish.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team and be willing to explore all options.
- Understand the principles of material design and incorporate them into UI solutions.

Top 3 daily responsibilities:
1. Communicate concepts through a combination of verbal and visual presentation. These methods may include sketches, wireframes, interactive prototypes and charting.
2. Organize and manage workflow to maintain a reliable pace within a demanding, agile environment.
3. Work closely with other User Experience team members

Required Skills:
- BA/BS degree in Design (interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science
- 2 years of work experience in interaction design
- Experience defining design systems that work across a product.
- Design portfolio, with experience designing complex web and/or mobile applications and demonstration of visual designs and prototypes.
- Experience in using prototyping tools like Sketch, Principle, Framer, etc.

Nice to have:
- MA/MS degree in Design (interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in designing usable mobile and web-based interfaces for complex internal systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript for rapid prototyping purposes.
- Expert HTML skills.
- Strong, clean visual design sense.
- Effective leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
