Interaction Designer

Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking an Interaction Designer for a 6–month assignment. The ideal candidate is well-rounded with strong interaction, visual, and problem-solving abilities, a passion for complex design problems and a desire to craft elegant, useful, and efficient experiences for users.

You will work closely with designers, researchers, product managers, and software engineers throughout all stages of the product cycle. You are a critical thinker with a good design sense, a strong technical background, and an eye for making things better. You will help define the user model and user interface for client’s payments products and platforms used by hundreds of millions of people.

Overall Responsibilities include:
● Develop and execute solutions related to the full range of user experience with client properties and internal applications, including user interface, contextual navigation, site architecture, and interaction design; compose a page, determine the flow and relationship of pages, and make each product or feature easy to use;
● Establish the standards for page consistency and design page mock-ups, interaction, and navigation from micro details to the macro overview; and develop prototypes to evaluate the designs with users.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
1. Work with UX teammates to design consistent and superior payments UI experience;
2. Collaborate with PM/ENG to be in sync with product directions and implementation details, to ensure deliverables meet expectations;
3. Support any urgent requests

Requirements:
● Exceptional design portfolio, with experience designing complex web and/or mobile applications.
● BA/BS degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (in lieu of degree, relevant work experience)
● 3+ years of overall experience in Interaction Design
● Expertise with user-centered design principles
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
● Expert with design tools (e.g. Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop) to produce wireframes and high fidelity mockups
● 1-2 years of visual design skills

Preferred Qualifications
● Strong foundations in cognition and human factors
● Prototyping or front-end development skills
● Experience collaborating with user researchers, content strategists, product managers, and engineers
● Design leadership skills
