Interaction Designer

As a member of the User Experience Design team for our medical device client, the Interaction Designer will work with multi-disciplinary teams to strategize and apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize among user needs, business goals, and technological realities for each project.

Major goals include: This position is extremely collaborative, and requires a high degree of professionalism and empathy for end users.

Responsibilities
•Drive and apply user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, marketing, regulatory, and others.
•Effectively utilize and teach relevant user experience methods, such as innovation, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem framing, and design principles.
•Take ideas and concepts, and visualize them such that they are communicated effectively and compellingly for internal leaders, cross-functional stakeholders, and customers.
•Translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity, despite the complexity of a system.
•Deliver UX visions, UI specifications, wireframes, workflows, and high- and low-fidelity prototypes.
•Build positive, collaborative relationships across teams/groups/functions through facilitative leadership to deliver great results and to "raise the bar" continually as an effective leader of positive change
•Collaborate with key product stakeholders to understand and support product design goals for existing and new products, and to ensure those goals are supported in the solution design
•Work with user researchers to plan usability tests, develop success criteria, analyze results and provide recommendations in accordance with FDA and other regulatory guidance (where applicable)

Required Skills
•Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research.

•Broad knowledge of human factors principles, design standards and trends, and cross-platform development.

•Seasoned in Agile development processes.
•Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage multiple and complex projects in a timely manner.

•Expertise with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Axure, Omnigraffle and skilled in creating 'lo-fi' prototypes to share with users in a fast, iterative manner.

•Experience with the healthcare field and medical devices a plus.
•Strong online portfolio available for viewing

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in User Interface Design, Cognitive Science, or equivalent.

Minimum 4-6 years experience Knowledge and Skills.

Demonstrated track record of success designing complex software systems in a fast paced, collaborative environment

Experience with application of design theories, principles, and concepts to information technology and consumer product and service design.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong understanding and experience in designing and implementing research and data collection plans for interactive and interface design testing and acceptance.

Evaluating designs and making recommendations for improvements to designs and technology to improve product quality and overall interactive and interface design.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate interactive and interface design data, design proposals and product specifications and negotiate options at management levels.

Strong skills in creative design tools (Sketch, Principle, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud, CSS, HTML5).
