Interaction Designer

Are you a strong visual designer who also knows HTML/CSS and can design digital desktop/mobile animations and rich media experiences? Vitamin T is working with a local retailer who needs an Interaction Designer for a 3-month contract onsite at their Kent offices.

This person will play an integral part on the campaign creative team creating engaging digital customer experiences supporting marketing campaigns, including animated display banners, interactive rich media ads and microsites. The interaction designer is involved in the whole creative process, from concepting and prototyping through production and development, providing craft, expertise and a point of view in defining visual design and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

· Working closely with partner teams to deliver on business strategies and drive results
· Working directly with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs
· Promoting open communication and teamwork, giving and receiving meaningful feedback
· Working quickly and productively, managing time effectively and successfully delivering several concurrent projects

Qualifications

· 3+ years of experience as an interaction designer or visual designer
· Portfolio demonstrating a strong visual aesthetic and ability to solve design problems
· Experience designing for digital retail advertising preferred
· Understanding of user-centered design and the fundamentals of user experience
· Knowledge of animation and a strong sense of timing
· Ability to prototype and iterate rapidly
· Responsive web design experience preferred
· Digital production background preferred
· Excellent presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences
· Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Cloud required
· Experience with Sketch and Framer preferred
· Understanding of HTML, Javascript and CSS that informs design and interaction decisions
· Bachelor's degree in visual communications, interaction design, human-computer interaction, user-centered design, or 3+ years equivalent professional experience
