Interaction Design Lead

Our client, a leading Digital Advertising Agency, is seeking an Interaction Design Lead to join their dynamic team to lead and guide all user experience-related project needs and activities across a variety of eCommerce, mobile, and digital in-store projects for their leading Canadian retail clients.

This person will be working closely with client stakeholders, alongside a smart and highly collaborative team of retail strategists, interaction designers, visual designers, and developers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Inspire and guide co-workers to produce thoughtful, beautiful, and inventive work for our retail eCommerce clients
• Bring leadership, passion, and enthusiasm to the team while advocating for the consumer
• Lead and collaborate with co-workers to conceive and prototype interaction models, information architectures, and user interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
• Expertly craft and oversee the creation of a variety of interaction design deliverables including: product requirements, interaction models, scenarios, sketches, schematics, and prototypes
• Understand and work within project parameters: client goals and requirements, internal goals, usability, technical constraints, as well as budget and schedule
• Promote cross-functional team participation and involvement through effective communication and joint decision-making
• Coach and mentor fellow interaction designers
• Experiment with new methods, tools, and techniques to continually improve our work

Key Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience working on eCommerce, retail, or transactional projects, with medium to large-sized teams
• Previous experience or familiarity with agile teams and agile design/development methodologies
• Strong facilitation, team building and leadership skills, including the ability to align teams and develop people
• Communicative, flexible, calm and patient under tight deadlines
• Digitally-savvy with a passion for underlying technology platforms that support our solutions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with clients
• A life-long learner, with a continuous eye for improving your craft
• A portfolio should showcase involvement on at least seven significant websites, digital initiatives and mobile. Clear, well designed, and annotated documentation is critical to see
