They are seeking a results oriented individual to manage the design department for Europe; this includes the London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Stockholm offices. They should be highly motivated, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes pressured environment. Ability to manage a team, work well with others, as well as working independently is key. They will be handling workflow and department scheduling, as well providing support throughout the business to project manage multiple projects at a time. This is an exciting opportunity to service our business with design team management, project management, and logistics. The ideal candidate must be naturally dynamic, pro-active, organised and personable and have the ability to multi-task. Strong communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities:
• Production management: Keep all projects moving smoothly through the business
• Management of the Europe design team members
• Project manage all design work for the region (London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Stockholm)
• Responsible for department scheduling and workflow for design team members
• Advocates for appropriate time-lines: Builds milestones into plans, monitors progress and adjusts them as necessary in response to any changes i.e. keeps all informed of conflicts, delays or any other unusual situations and obtains deadline extensions when necessary. Provides clear direction and makes sure that staff knows what is expected of them
• Communicates job status information to all team members
• Client liaison – project management, printing, logistics, and scheduling
• Works closely with Support team
• Organise any necessary training for design team members
• Recruitment for design team
• Arrangement of temporary workers when necessary
• Expedites the inevitable “crisis” jobs
• Awareness of and strategic response to external influences, such as country customs legislation, transportation delays, local bank holidays, etc.
• Works with design teams in other regions globally to ensure good workflow, global best practices, knowledge sharing and constant ideation throughout the business.
• Stationary printing
• Stock management (bulk printing, boxes, stock items, stationary etc.)
• Shutterstock account manager
• Global Image Library owner and manager
• Upkeep of in house file copies for all projects, ensure we always have one of each, manage the lending of these to consultants and ensuring items are returned
• Translations – dealing with external translation company – uploads, downloads, checking, workflow of post-translation design work


Skills needed:
• Experience of department / team management
• Good project management and workflow skills, running a schedule for a department
• Some knowledge / experience of the Adobe Creative suite and MS Office in order to fully understand the work that the team undertakes and timelines needed for project management
• Extremely accurate, with an eye for details
• Good command of English at degree level
• Effective interpersonal skills and communication
• Extremely organised and flexible: Pro-active, always a step ahead and on top of tasks at hands, communicates needs, instructions and decisions clearly, both verbally and in writing. Adapts communication style to meet the needs of the audience. Uses probing questions to check understanding
• Highly reliable in order to inspire trust and motivate other members of the team
• Good management skills to work with a diverse team

• Shows positive and solution-finding attitude when faced with challenges
• High level of adaptability, able to switch from one task to another quickly and regularly
• Shows confidence to perform own role without unnecessary support in normal circumstances
