Instructional Developer

Our client, an aeronautics industry-leader, delivers innovative high-fidelity aviation simulation and training solutions to the commercial and military markets while providing superior technical support and customer service.

The Instructional Developer must be personable, take-charge individuals with dynamic organizational skills and be comfortable and capable working in a fast-paced, team environment.

Position Overview:
Designs and develops curriculum content, training materials, training modules, teaching aids, and manages all aspects of curriculum development programs to include, but not limited to: technical skills, management and leadership development, safety and new technology in transportation operations systems and maintenance. This individual will develop curriculum to be used by the training facilitators and/or instructors and training participants for various aviation programs.

This individual is expected to work with the aircraft Subject Matter Experts to elicit their expertise and input to ensure accuracy and standardization of all training materials and content for the various aircraft types.
This individual will be expected to deliver accurate, high-quality documentation within a specified deadline and timeline and will work with web-based media. The Curriculum Developer will utilize adult learning principles to develop all instructional materials.

Participate in all aspects of new curriculum development programs/projects for both Civilian and Military Aviation programs which MAY include:
• Confers with management and staff to determine training objectives.
• Assists in conducting training systems analysis to develop new training systems or to modify existing training systems as necessary.
• Designs, develops, and writes training programs, including course outlines, instructional procedures, text, study materials, handout, tests, and exercises.
• Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to the training facility and integrates information into training program.
• Practices Total Quality/ISO 9001 principles and concepts and maintains total quality, including focus on and responsiveness to the customer.

• Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs.
• Comprehensive understanding of SCORM and other usability standards, as well as user interface design methodologies
• Familiar with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other international Civil Aviation Administration regulations.
• Minimum of 5 years of civil aviation Instruction Design experience.
• Bachelor degree in Education or a related field, with emphasis on training and curriculum development preferred.

Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledgeable and functional in technical writing, including consistent and correct use of tense, grammar/spelling and terminology that is interesting and varied.
• Strong proof-reading skills to produce error-free documents.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in applying adult learning principles.
• Utilizes the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) Model when designing and developing curriculum materials.
• Advanced to intermediate computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010, and shared point, etc.)
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in developing commercial training for civil aviation programs

LOCATION: Goose Creek, SC (Charleston)
On-site Contract: 1-yr.+
