Instructional Designer/Developer

Aquent's client, a large national telecom company has a need for a Contractor to provide the services listed here. This contract is for a 6 month term with the possibility extending for duration of the contract (30 months) based on the needs of the Client and and performance of the worker. Duties and Responsibilities

Aligns with consultants, business sponsors and SMEs to identify training requirements and produce the appropriate training solution that meets quality standards, is instructionally sound, speaks in Client’s voice and meets the overall training objective.
Gathers educational requirements, performs analysis, develops and delivers course content and maintains project documentation for medium to large-scale development projects
Manages all aspects of course development from program or application concepts to recommending optimal instructional methods and/or blended learning solutions to post program measurement of training transfer and performance improvement for the corporation, focusing on technical training projects
Works with technical SMEs to understand the departmental need, then translates information obtained into appropriate deliverables used for knowledge transfer.
Manages external interactive training vendors in the evaluation, design, development and implementation of e-learning courseware
Develops webinars, online courses, quick reference guides, and other resources using standard applications and templates
Produces high quality learning deliverables, on time under aggressive deadlines, for interactive training courseware, including the design of course content, interactions, graphics, multimedia and incorporation of social media/networking elements when applicable
Completes assigned technical tasks on time (e.g. analysis, designing, development, implementation, evaluation, testing, monitoring, maintenance, production support, documentation, etc.)
Ability to deliver quality training programs on time that meet the overall course objective
Provides formal performance support
Develops Policy, Process, Compliance, Tool, Software application training for various roles throughout the IT and Network departments

Knowledge and Education

B.S. /B.A. degree in Learning Technology, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience
Three to five years e-learning development experience with Captivate 5 or 6 and similar tools.
Three to five years experience with learning management systems, integration and user acceptance/quality testing.
Knowledge of all aspects of interactive web-based training, from platform selection, to appropriate use of media to design and measurement.
Knowledge and proven application of multimedia and social networking tools in e-learning design and delivery.
Working knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures.
Strong e-learning instructional design skills and ability to create end-to-end learning solutions incorporating a variety of media elements.
Knowledge and application of other learning delivery methods (e.g. synchronous and asynchronous ILT)
Experience developing technical training preferred

Qualifications

Must have the ability to understand technical projects, translate the content and then simplify it into training that will exceed expectations.
Project management experience or training program management experience with medium to large-scale projects.
Ability to direct and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and virtual environment.
Demonstrated technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand, translate and simplify source content into training for the appropriate audience.
PC and desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, etc.) competency.
Ability to direct multiple projects to superior quality delivery.
Good interpersonal skills.
Decision-making and management aptitudes.
Good organizational and problem solving skills.
Strong project management skills.
Strong verbal and written communications.
Able to demonstrate high degree of professionalism, flexibility and integrity. Tremendous work ethic required.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to interact with all management levels.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to overall team success.
Experience in dealing with vendor relationships.
Experience using a Learning Management System or similar tool for data capture, tracking and analysis.
Technical experience working with Network, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or similar technical teams/departments is a plus.
Experience in measuring and evaluating learning effectiveness.
