Instructional Designer

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and author highly effective, results driven curriculum to support the learning and development needs of internal and external clients; ability to develop compelling collateral materials.
• Research/identify appropriate delivery approaches/media/methodologies (e.g., ILT, eLearning, video, as well as device specific usage recommendations)
• Leverage highly developed technical skills in curriculum development to build powerful e-learnings, podcasts, videos and webinar training content.
• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the business processes, the needs of the clients and to recommend, design, and develop the detailed training content for the Salesforce.com initiative
• Utilizing A.D.D.I.E., analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Determine the needs of end users by identified audience
• Produce high-quality training content that meets applicable standards [ADA, Branding, development protocols] and is appropriate for the intended audience(s)
• Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding
• Create supplemental tutorials and simulations for end-user training purposes
• Standardize content across platforms and media
• Utilize project management skills to define and meet project milestones, communicate issues and risks in a timely manner, and escalate to senior management as necessary
• Work independently to meet deadlines while coordinating with and soliciting input on materials from subject matter experts; develop relationships and work with the subject matter experts to validate design and content
• Obtain stakeholder and SME approval/sign-off of training materials (following review cycles), and make needed revisions based on stakeholder feedback.

Skills required:
• Ability to understand complex information and communicate the information in a simple format to people with diverse professional backgrounds
• Strong consultation skills and the ability to partner with Subject Matter Experts and training professionals to understand nuances of the processes to be trained
• Excellent technical skills with the ability to build and deliver online, using interactive technologies to blend text, graphics, multidimensional images, sound, and video
• Deep working knowledge of adult learning theory and teaching techniques
• Familiarity with a wide array of training concepts, practices and procedures
• Ability to communicate and execute clear, consistent and applicable learning experiences aligned to organizational goals
• Ability to design and deliver high quality training content with close attention to detail
• Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Command of common authoring tools and course development methodologies (Articulate Storyline, In Design, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia a plus)
• Ability to develop video simulations and audio files (using Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe Audition, iMovie, Garage Band)
• Design and development experience for Flash, HTML and mobile devices a plus
• Excellent oral communication, presentation, writing and editing skills
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence laterally and vertically
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and peers to deliver business results
• Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills
