Instructional Designer

In-house team is seeking a unique individual with both instructional design and technical content production experience to contribute to the development, implementation, and growth of role-based training programs. In your primary role as an Instructional Designer, your responsibility is to design and develop blended learning materials by collaborating with subject matter experts. In your secondary role as Content Producer, you will drive the planning, production, and release of technical enablement content for learning paths, as well as possess demonstrated experience for producing instructor-led, eLearning, webcast and video-based content for training.

This team is responsible for global enablement and training to accelerate service delivery. Their guiding principles are: content is king, timeliness and relevance are paramount, and efficiency is key. This is an exciting time to join their team, and you will contribute to the groundwork by setting guidelines, standards, best practices and processes necessary to deliver repeatable, programmatic training to a global audience.


Primary Responsibilities: Instructional Designer
• Design and develop blended learning materials that align with role-based curricula for multiple field audiences. Primary content is based on Company technologies.
• Consult and collaborate with subject matter experts (SME) to produce learning content for live instructional workshops, webcasts, and eLearning.
• Map individual learning modules into overall curriculum by audience.
• Design and implement instructional design and interactive techniques such as polling and quizzes to gauge and measure learners’ retention and application of learning content.
• Deploy content onto the learning management system (LMS) and other internal sites for online and mobile access.
Secondary Responsibilities: Content Producer
• Plan and manage multimedia production such as video and web conference to capture needed assets live, virtually, and offline for training purposes.
• Lead the content editing, packaging, and deployment work to modularize content for easy and quick access and consumption.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to record training presentations either live during an in-person training event or offline using available recording tools.
• Own post-production workflows for content conversions and fixes, and ensure quality.
Essential Competencies
• Ability to apply adult learning principles and effective instructional design techniques adhering to the ADDIE and AGILE model.
• Demonstrated experience producing content related to technical, complex topics in the high tech industry.
• Experience with instructional authoring tools such as Brainshark, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, and MS Office Suite
• Experience with video-based production from planning, audio and video recording to post-production editing and packaging.
• Identifying and addressing learning needs.
• Exemplary teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work with many different personalities and build quality relationships.
• Self-starter who can juggle multiple tasks simultaneously to consistently deliver high quality results.
• Global thinker who performs in a professional, efficient and diplomatic manner in environments that are high-pressure, fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous.

Entry Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of instructional design experience
• Minimum 3 years of content production experience
• Demonstrated success in design, development and production of learning content to technical audiences (internal and/or external-facing)
• Experience in high tech industry
• Bachelor degree or equivalent required

Must Have requirements:
• The candidate needs to be proficient at least on one authoring tool (Captivate/Articulate/Brainshark/Lectora/Panopto etc.)
• Have experience supporting technical audiences (high-tech industry)
• B.S or B.A.

Preferred qualifications:
• Able to perform ‘own’ voice over,
• Rapid online content deployment and troubleshooting experience
• Self-directed for engagements with SMEs
