Instructional Designer

The ideal instructional designer is well versed in end-to-end development; including design and delivery of various training programs especially in the areas of soft skills and functional skills training.

Responsibilities
- Lead assigned learning design projects through end-to-end development from scoping/analysis through design and development to delivery/implementation providing clear roles and responsibilities through all phases of the project lifecycle
- Ensure learning programs align with business unit specific goals and company strategy and culture
- Utilize standardized learning design tools including scoping documents and schedules to ensure timely progress on project milestones
- Determine the appropriate learning delivery vehicle(s) to achieve the desired result within the context of the overall project goals (ie: instructor-led, leader-led, on demand e-learning, facilitated webinar, etc.)
- Develop facilitator and participant materials that are appropriate to the course topic and can be used by multiple facilitators and audiences
- Lead assigned projects to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of training courses, learning materials, etc.
- Gather and review feedback on learning programs and incorporate feedback into future versions as appropriate
- Facilitate the delivery of learning programs as appropriate
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Leverage partnerships with facilitators, stakeholders, subject matter experts and external vendors and utilize resources as appropriate
- Work within project budget and time parameters
- Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) as needed and including maintenance of training curriculum database to reflect all active courses
- Deliver exemplary customer service through strong professionalism and ownership of assigned learning projects
- Demonstrate commitment to teamwork through relationship building and collaboration
- Deliver productivity through time efficiency and commitment to strong results

Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in instructional design and delivery (minimum 2 years with soft and functional skills design)
- Demonstrated understanding and application of Adult Learning Theory
- Ability to develop relevant course materials and curriculum for a diverse audience of adult learners
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training in small and large group settings
- Demonstrated experience designing for a variety of delivery methods including classroom-based, on demand elearning, and facilitated virtual environments
- Bachelor's degree (in related field, preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Proficiency in SharePoint, Captivate, Photoshop and Sound Booth, strongly preferred
- Retail experience a plus
