Instructional Designer

In this role, you will formulate content around learning objectives and turn ideas into a working storyboard that the in-house multimedia and design teams can easily translate into the final product:

• coordinate with clients, subject matter experts and creative staff to plan and write engaging instructional content based on required performance standards and aligned to policy.
• produce updates to existing training materials,
• design new materials that address company’s growing staff and products,
• design new interactive elements for curriculum.
• develop instructional content for a variety of delivery platforms – including computer-based training courses, Flash-based instructional lessons for external clients, video, stand up briefings, and specialized training vignettes.
• create outstanding work both as an individual and as part of a larger team while exercising keen attention to detail in grammar, punctuation, and visual layout/accuracy of the final product.


Requirements:

• 3 to 7 years of experience as an Instructional Designer (following the ADDIE model of instructional design)
• Degree in instructional design, journalism, or related field
• Portfolio: Please show samples of completed projects, preferably storyboards and final product (writing sample minimum)
• Amazing attention to detail – grammar and punctuation, visual design and layout, audio accuracy, and effective presentation
• Experience with technology-enabled learning and performance support solutions
• Ability to articulate your thoughts and design approaches in ways that intended audience members and team members can understand
• Communicate effectively with subject matter experts to develop or refine custom content
• Coordinate and execute concepts in a way that balances creativity, client needs, project scope, and technical abilities or limitations
• A natural eye for multimedia design (including layout, style, color selection, motion, graphics, audio, the whole nine yards) and an ability to work with an Art Director to create product look and feel
• Comfortable working on multiple projects and meeting hard deadline
• Experience with Learning Management Systems
• Project management skills and experience preferred
• Experience working with government agencies preferred
