Instructional Designer

One of our valued clients in the Energy industry is seeking an Instructional Designer for a contract role in Austin, TX. The Instructional Designer is responsible for the effective design and management of the organization's training content and development programs for US employees and Wholesale distributors. This position works with the company's product subject matter experts, other trainers and the curriculum manager to create, maintain, improve and deliver relevant course material using the latest theories in adult learning and development, with a primary focus on instructional design and video production.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Design and maintain the organization's product and application training programs in accordance with the organization’s training and development plan with emphasis on the Partner Business
• Analyze needs assessments to bring differentiation and innovation to design and development of training using a variety of delivery methods including instructor-led, on-line or web-based techniques.
• Effective use of social media to promote, communicate and market US product training offer.
• Participate and assist in development of training curriculums and schedules.
• Collaborate with other training departments in USA and various product marketing groups.
• Deliver training related activities as assigned.
• Additional tasks as assigned to increase customer satisfaction and the company's business profitability

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in course design and LMS systems. Up to date on latest adult learning
strategies including video production. Proven success in developing and
delivering digital and technical training. Experience with electrical distribution equipment, including but not limited to: panel boards, circuit breakers, switchboards, and load centers desired.
Education: 4-year degree in technical field (electrical, mechanical) or equivalent.
Minimum 2-year degree in instructional design and learning and development programming or
equivalent.
Language: Fluent in English. Multi-lingual is a plus!
Computer Skills: Adobe Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter, Articulate Storyline,
SCORM, LMS systems, MS Office, Multi-media utilization, Social Media, WebEx Training Center, and video technology. Additional software experience a plus. (Videolicious, iSpring, LearnDash, etc.)
Professional: Organized, able to prioritize, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
