Instructional Designer

Our healthcare client, located in Downers Grove, IL has an immediate need for an Instructional Designer.
This position is responsible for managing technical and/or professional development curriculums; managing or conducting needs analysis and major projects; evaluating performance gaps; recommending performance and non performance solutions to management customers; designing and developing solutions; facilitating delivery of learning programs; evaluating the effectiveness and results of solutions; coaching and developing team members; managing programs which include learning events and post training applications.

This position is responsible for six or more of functions 1 – 15, and is also responsible for 14 – 16.
1. Manage one or more technical and/or professional development curriculums; manage advanced level courses and programs.
2. Manage needs analysis and assessments. Determine knowledge and skill gaps and other causes and recommend solutions to management customers.
3. Recommend appropriate performance based solutions, including learning activities, reference, job aids, and multi element programs.
4. Oversee and handle design and development of appropriate programs.
5. Facilitate and/or oversee delivery of learning and development interventions.
6. Evaluate solutions and recommend/develop/implement improvements as needed.
7. Design, develop and implement measurement tools, instruments and processes for evaluation levels 1-3. Analyze data and prepare reports for division leadership as directed.
8. Lead large and complex learning and performance improvement projects. Responsible for multiple programs and accountable for successful project completion.
9. Coach and train team members in all aspects of design, delivery, and measurement of performance solutions.
10. Write releases, training material for major courses, and newsletters. Review writing of other team members and provide coaching and solutions to address communications skill gaps.
11. Make appropriate recommendations commensurate with project scope and deliverables. Determine resource assignments.
12. Interface with all levels of management, external consultants and entities.
13. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
14. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
15. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
16. Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Applicable to everyone in this position
 Verbal and written communications: clear, concise, correct grammar, accurate word choice, audience specific language appropriate tone; ability to critique and coach others on communications issues
 Interpersonal communications including the skills to establish and maintain communications networks and to set a positive
 learning environments
 Experience and ability to work with multiple internal and external customers, senior management, subject matter experts
 Meet department travel requirements (all travel is local in the state of IL)
 Quality assurance and process implementation concurrent with training development/deployment.
One or more of the following requirements
 Grade level application based knowledge of one or more specified subject areas supported by the hiring department or
 Experience and skills to design and/or deliver courses of at least ½ day duration, which have an observable structure, address multiple learning styles and demonstrate department presentation mechanics requirements or
 Experience and skills to design e learning programs with authoring tools used by the hiring department; completed programs to include participant interaction and energy balance and presence of multiple learning styles
Or,
Experience and skills in four or more of the following areas (as designated by the hiring manager):
 Training facilitation
 Creation of documentation, job aids or process documents
 Experience and ability to observe and critique trainers
 Experience & skills to create and facilitate programs on adult learning, course design, & delivery
 Project management skills to include leading large scale projects and managing and/or participating in multiple projects simultaneously
 Instructional design and development
 Quality assurance and process implementation concurrent with training development/deployment.
 Interactive Coaching
 Knowledge in subject area(s) supported by the training department
 Creation of testing tools for levels 1 - 3, analyzing learning measurement results, identifying and implementing program changes to address program evaluation results.
 Conduct performance analysis/needs analysis and develop solutions
 Application based knowledge of adult learning theories and styles
 Experience and ability to work with multiple internal and external customers, senior management, subject matter experts
 Knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS), design tools, or other related systems and applications
