Instructional Designer - Salt Lake City

Qualifications

• Utilize aspects of the ADDIE, SAM, and AGILE models to produce relevant and targeted training.
• Design, develop, and implement e-learning courses that support the American Express Banks and their affiliates for banking regulatory training requirements using strong instructional design methodologies.
• Collaborate with SMEs to identify, research, and develop learning objectives and course content.
• Design course content elements including graphics, audio, and video.
• Manage multiple training projects, often in short time frames, and remain flexible to changing priorities.
• Establish and maintain relationship with Compliance to obtain approvals for regulatory training
• Revise and maintain existing training materials
• Deliver courseware, build curricula, and perform other administrative tasks on the Cornerstone Learning Management System
• Partner to drive enterprise business transformation for regulatory learning.
• Define and implement appropriate evaluation strategies
• Assist the team to drive prioritization of key objectives and areas of emphasis.
• Establish and maintain effective relationship management with our customers (Bank Affiliates) and partners.
• Develop teaching aids such as PPT decks, handbooks, manuals, and job aids.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience with designing and developing comprehensive training for instructor-led, web-based, and virtual
training.
• 3+ years experience using rapid development tools including but not limited to: Captivate 9, Storyline 2, Articulate
• Development Suite, Dreamweaver, HTML, XML, Javascript a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Flash and Actionscript a plus.
• In depth knowledge of learning theories, methodologies, and the multiple levels of evaluation.
• Demonstrated strong and effective leadership skills and ability to operate comfortably within a complex cultural, global environment
• Administration experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Cornerstone, Sumtotal or Saba
• Experience with Management Systems (LCMS), and Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS) a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Sharepoint administration skills a plus.
• Visual Basic skills a plus.
• Graphics creation expertise with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrators, Paintshop, or Snag-it.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities; self-motivated, and a team player.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, flexibility and nimbleness in changing courses and solving problems swiftly
• Regulatory knowledge and experience with US consumer protection laws and regulations a plus
• Expertise with audio and video tools a plus.
• Knowledge and expertise of banking regulations a plus.
• Experience with regulatory training a plus.
• Experience with SCORM and AICC requirements.
• Accessibility knowledge and experience a plus.
Education Requirement:
•Formal education in Instructional Design; Instructional Technology; or related area.
