Instructional Designer - 3942969

Conducts analysis for, designs, develops and evaluates training courses. Develops tools for evaulating the effectiveness of training materials and activities. Researches, creates and implements alternative training and delivery methods, e.g., Instructor-led, web-based, synchronous/asynchronous distance learning, self-paced and blended learning models of training. Work is performed under intermittent supervision.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Conducts needs analyses using accepted methods such as surveys, direct observation, and focus groups
Creates course content outlines in collaboration with assigned Subject Matter Experts (SME).
Designs and develops course, module and lesson storyboards in collaboration with SME's.
Collects and analyzes content required for development of objectives, including, but not limited to:
Text, graphics, animations (2D and/or 3D), audio, glossary terms, activities, and test questions for training materials.
Develops classroom training materials in industry-standard tools, including Word, PowerPoint, or other required formats.
Programs computer-based instructional materials using industry-standard tools such as Flash, Lectora, Captivate and other tools.
Captures software screens and programs for interactive hands-on activities in Captivate or other required formats as assigned.
Tests navigation for instructional materials and interactive activities.
Develops written and hands-on skills and knowledge assessments to determine student mastery of course learning objectives.
Develops course evaluation vehicles to elicit feedback from trainees
Completes course QA process.
Other duties as assigned


5 - 8 years experience in training and development initiatives or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. High level analytical, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills. Independent judgment is exercised in performance of duties.
Master's degree in Instructional Design, or Education or equivalent related work experience
