Information Developer - Technical Writer

Our client's Information Development group strives to provide real guidance, not a laundry list of features. Writers are expected to put themselves in customers’ shoes to gain the insight and inspiration necessary to answer questions they don’t even know they need to ask. This client is a multi-talented team of technologists, writers, and expert critics working together with product managers and software developers to create great products that IT professionals love to use.

This role is responsible for designing and create user assistance for our IT management software and also serve as a customer advocate to influence product design. You can quickly understand and communicate technical information. You love teaching people what you know.

Responsibilities:
· Identify the real pain points of our customers; figure out the best way to guide them to solutions.
· Defend the customer from bad design; be their champion when someone says "We can doc around that."
· Support our customers by developing user assistance including administrator guides, UI text, knowledgebase articles, release notes, forum posts, blog posts, and more.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree. In place of degree, 4 years of relevant experience.
· 4 years of technical writing experience.
· Intermediate-level proficiency with HTML, CSS and jQuery
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience writing in a team environment with source control or content management tools.
· Ability to follow source code (MS-DOS batch files, javascript, VBScript).
