We are looking for a visual problem solver, someone that enjoys taking the complex and creating something simplistic. For example you've spent a lot of time thinking about things like the Chase/WaMu merger. You don't shy away from chaos but instead see it is a problem that needs to be solved through creative, innovative design. You likely have a mild obsession with infographics, branding, and things like forms (yup forms) and UX. Our client, a consultancy and design firm that values both analytical and visual thinking, is looking to add a full time ongoing contractor. This position is onsite in Seattle. Their recent projects include:

• Helping the Gates Foundation to simplify and standardize the user experience for a new grant-making process (including everything from forms design to the interface for a desktop application).
• Helping teams within the Gates Foundation to develop visual frameworks for organizing and communicating their work
• Developing the brand identity and supporting communications for a gathering of international philanthropists.
• Helping Heavy Restaurant Group (owners of Purple, Barrio, Lot No. 3, Cast Iron Studios, The Commons) to develop and manage their portfolio of restaurant brands – everything from developing new restaurant concepts to designing signage, menus, and other aspects of the customer experience.
• Developing proprietary software to simplify brand management for small and mid-size organizations.
• Helping one of Seattle’s most cutting-edge furniture designers to build a national brand and expand his operations.
• Helping the leadership of the Puget Sound's largest Marketing Association to align their brand strategy, marketing operations, and customer interactions.

WISH LIST

Great typography skills.
Appreciation for analytical design. You should get excited about designing elegant information dashboards and forms.
Comfortable designing for both print and online.
Ideally you are adept at information architecture and visual design.

Interested candidates can apply via the Aquent website. Please be prepared to show a portfolio that highlights your breadth of experience in print, web, as well as higher level thinking in regards to organizing information.
