Seeking an Information Architect with Agency Experience!

Are you passionate about customer experience design, information architecture, interaction design, and technology? Do you want to work with big brands and produce the best experiences in the industry – hands-down?

As an Experience Architect, you bring to life business requirements, architecting and designing experiences that merge user goals and business objectives for multiple big brands. Your experiences span devices, channels and environments – from desktop to mobile to social to store. You understand and articulate the goals of the user and serve as their advocate throughout the design process.
Your decisions are informed by statistical analysis, design research, competitive analysis, service design, usability studies, and technology capabilities. You are an expert in your field and work directly with the client to understand their needs and overcome their bias. Throughout a project, you create clear, usable documentation to articulate the proposed solution and the consumer goals it serves.

The Experience Architect works collaboratively with Strategists, Business Analysts, Art Directors, Designers, User Researchers, System Architects and Developers to define and refine user experiences for our clients.
The Experience Architect is responsible for:
• Define methodologies and conduct experience design research activities such as customer interviews, usability lab observations, task analysis, customer card sorting, surveys, web analytics / heat map reviews, and field research in order to understand the context in which the target user will interact with the system and their needs, motivations, tasks, and goals.

• Define the taxonomy, organization and navigational conventions used throughout the experience.
• Translate business requirements into an effective information architecture that connects users to desired information at relevant points in their process.
• Define and document user flows, prioritize features and information within the interface, correlate features to user tasks/needs, and outline the functional specifications of the interface.
• Craft solutions that balance user goals and business goals while fitting into the constraints of brand, time, budget and technology.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure proposed designs are technically feasible
• Collaborate with art directors and designers to optimize the visual experience and ensure that user considerations are met.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in order to facilitate discussions and guide the decision making process to meet project objectives.

Typical deliverables include:
• Information architecture documents, including: wireframes (both low and high-fidelity), functional specifications, site maps, and page description diagrams illustrating page states and system responses.
• User workflows, scenarios and task analysis
• Heuristic reviews, competitive analyses, and content audits
• Taxonomy & Product Meta-data recommendations
• User Research, including but not limited to: surveys, card sorting exercises, user interviews
• Client presentation materials

Experience:
• Interactive agency experience is preferred.
• Portfolio of work is required, demonstrating the depth and breadth of your experience.
• Bachelors or Masters in a design discipline, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Digital Media, Communication Design, Interaction Design, Psychology or a related field.
• Extensive experience collaborating with design and development teams on large-scale dynamic ecommerce websites, transactional applications, retail systems design, mobile experiences, or content delivery systems (B2C preferred).
• Proven ability to design effective product/category taxonomies and navigation systems for large scale web sites; including designing and executing taxonomy user studies.
• Proven ability to design methodologies for gathering user data, interpreting the results, and translating them into solutions.
• Experience with collaborating with Usability Researchers and participating in customer and field research.
• Experience with collaborating with Analytics and SEO Experts to pull and interpreted past data, A/B testing, and optimizing for search and marketing campaigns.
• Expert user of Axure (preferred), Omnigraffle, and/or, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office products.

• You are organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage complex projects in a timely manner.
• You are detailed oriented can find clarity despite ambiguity.
• You have superior written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable presenting.
• You can plan, organize, and lead presentations, workshops/working sessions, and discovery sessions with C-level stakeholders.
