Immediate opportunities for hands-on, wireframe lovin' Information Architects in the DC Metro/Northern VA/Maryland area. Do you live and breathe wireframes and sitemaps? Are you able to solicit user requirements and desired tasks with ease? Do you follow 508 accessibility compliance as if it were religious dogma? Do you want to work in a collaborative team environment producing deliverables for nationally recognized websites that are seen as best in class for innovation and usability? We have the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking production oriented Information Architects to join our clients for both short and long term contracts.

PROJECT OVERVIEW & SKILLS NEEDED:
* Work closely with product team in a fast-paced environment to define and write product requirements.
* Participate in all phases of scoping, architecting, and design.
* Define the user model and user interface for new products and features.
* Translate specific use cases and business rules into a recommended approach.
* Develop high-level and/or detailed user scenarios, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
* Consult with technical leads to determine feasibility of the recommended approach.
* Produce the detailed functional specifications required to implement design.
* Gauge the usability of new and existing features, and make constructive and reasonable suggestions for change.
* Work with designers and engineers to realize the blueprint.
* Support the QA team through integration and end-to-end testing.
* Monitor user feedback, site data and customer service inquiries to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
* Clear demonstration of design skills and an eye for detail in production.
* Must be comfortable working across a number of projects at any time.
* Knowledge of/experience with a range of user research and testing methodologies.
* Clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an IA and contingencies with other team members.

SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* B.A./M.A. in a related field, such as interaction design, HCI, communications or library science.
* Proficiency with Visio or Illustrator and the MS Office suite.
* Complete understanding of constraints of designing for the web, including HTML, Web browser capabilities across multiple platforms, and new technologies.
* Strong analysis and communication skills.
* Have a solid understanding of and perspective on social media trends and technologies.
* Familiarity with content management systems.
