Information Architect

The Information Architect will be responsible for researching user needs, identifying pain points in the current site, and making suggestions for improvement. This person will provide a new site architecture, page layout, user flow, and supporting documentation. The IA will collaborate closely with stakeholders, producers, designers, and developers to create the best possible user interactions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain sitemap and wireframe mockups, use cases, prototypes, specifications and other design documents to communicate design ideas
• Create wireframes that illustrate site layout, navigation, and content prioritization
• Collaborate with designers on visual comps and provide input from an information architecture perspective
• Document design before handover to development teams for implementation
• Work with development teams to make sure that the information architecture reflects the customer's needs

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience as an Information Architect, User Experience Architect, or Interaction Designer
• Extensive experience in information design and user scenarios
• Experience with Basecamp or other project management/defect tracking tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will be working with remote teams
• Self-starter, able to work independently and solve complex problems effectively
• Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail
• Experience with customer-facing support sites

Desired Qualifications:

• E-commerce interaction experience
• Experience working with a CMS; knowledge of CSS/HTML/JavaScript
• Prefer local to SF Bay Area, but open to remote worker
