Information Architects - we have a long-term, contract-to-hire opportunity in San Francisco with a widely-recognized financial services operation. We are looking for a taxonomy and metadata tagging expert who can help develop an enterprise intranet platform used by thousands of employees on the daily basis.

As the latest member of a new team tasked with the development of an enterprise intranet platform, this position will be responsible for the design of an easy-to-use, data intensive methodology. This long-term project is part of a greater systematic migration from a legacy software currently in disrepair. By partnering with a team of UI Designers, community managers and software developers, this position will be responsible for researching user requirements, defining metadata tagging & taxonomy standards, and continual optimization efforts.

- Define and implement taxonomy and metadata tagging standards
- Conduct extensive research on end-user requirements and business needs
- Collaborate with UI/UX Designers on intranet department pages
- Conduct continual studies of user interaction for optimization efforts
- Direct massive content migration from legacy software

- Experience developing taxonomy standards from scratch
- 3-5 years of experience in Information Architecture, Library Sciences, and/or User Experience
- Heavy, hand-on experience with metadata tagging
- Extensive user research and requirement gathering expertise
