Information Architect / UX/ BA

Our Corporate Pharmaceutical client is seeking a proven Information Architect (w/ Business (Systems) Analysis / UX) who will be responsible for guiding the development, ensuring the ease of use and designing the user experience of legacy and future customer-facing applications for their Services Applications team. The ideal candidate will have Business Analysis, User Experience and Client Contact experience. This is both an internal-client-facing, and Client-customer-facing position.

The candidate should be comfortable meeting and working with business stakeholders, and be an expert at translating technical issues, constraints and problems into clear business language for stakeholders, and clearly communicating business needs to the development team to ensure mutual success. The Information Architect will work extensively with other internal business units; strong interpersonal, communication and customer focus skills are required.

This is not a production coding position; however the candidate should have very good to excellent knowledge of modern browser-agnostic HTML, CSS and Javascript, semantic markup, the HTTP dialog, a basic understanding of SSL/TLS communication between browser and server, forms-based web applications, basic experience with any of several server side technologies (ASP/.NET, Java, PHP, etc.), and common diagnostic tools for analysis and debugging of web applications (Fiddler, Firebug, Web Developer Toolbar, browser and mobile web development toolsets, etc.).

Strong candidates will have excellent visual literacy and visual communication skills, an ability to elicit ideas from stakeholders and users, make those ideas visible and tangible and distill ideas into deliverable features. The position is not a visual design slot, but the successful candidate will need to present information to stakeholders, follow current style guides and brand rules, and guide visual design professionals as the need arises.

Position Description
- Minimum 5 years of experience in BA, IA or UX roles in web software development environment
- Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- Must possess strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
- Perform user research, record and describe hidden and overt user behavior, drivers, mental models
- Perform interaction design, document and evaluate designs with paper and interactive prototypes
- Perform diagnostic and generative usability tests, card sorts, quantitative and qualitative research
- Maintain go-forward and current-release enhancement and feature lists for several applications
- Work with business stakeholders to define, validate and approve requirements
- Work with business stakeholders to plan, gain agreement on designs, verify quality of delivered releases
- Work with associated teams on brand compliance, analytics, search engine tuning (thesauri, best bets, findability, indexability)

Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with teams developing software in an internet or intranet context
- 3+ years of experience in interaction design, information architecture, usability or other appropriate UX discipline
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, generating requirements, executing the SDLC in waterfall, agile or hybrid development teams
- Excellent verbal, visual and interpersonal communication skills
- Good basic knowledge of image manipulation tools: SnagIt (or equivalent), Adobe Photoshop (CS5 or higher)
- Experience with screen-recording software TechSmith Camtasia (or equivalent), usability recording software TechSmith Morae, Silverback (or equivalent)
- Experience with conferencing software (Live Meeting, WebEx, Adobe Connect, etc.)
- Experience with prototyping/wireframing tools - at least one of: Axure RP, iRise, OmniGraffle, Microsoft Visio, Balsamiq Mockups, InDesign+wireframe library (state which library), Protoshare (or equivalent)

Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of Knowledge Management, Content Management, Portal and familiarity with SAP CRM
- Knowledge of web client and server-side technology
- Operating knowledge of Web Services, XML, XSL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
- Experience with mobile technologies is a plus
- Research methodologies: Usability Testing, Card Sorts, Surveys, Interviews, Analytics, remote research
- Analytic and design methodologies: Interactive and paper prototyping, Sketching, Sketchboarding, Design Studio methodology, Gamestorming, Wireframing
