Information Architect -Temporary to Hire

Temporary to Hire Information Architect needed immediately. Must be able to understand and build requirements, predict pain points or issues, be client facing and engage in a consulting environment.

This IA role is more of a problem solver. Our client needs someone who really understands business processes as well as usability. Main effort will involve improving an enrollment procedure and then, may be redesigning a public interface toward the middle or end of next year. The administrative/ application / database side is extremely important as this will be what is called “productivity improvement” as well as user experience. Business Analyst, Process Improvement, Usability or IA experience and/or training is important or you should be able to talk about it. Big plus if you have wireframe skills. Ability to use Visio, Snagit, Axure, Fireworks, etc.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2 plus years of information architecture and usability analysis experience designing UI for the web.
• Highly collaborative.
• Ability spanning the front-end development process.
• Background in research and design efforts for web based IA and interaction design.
• Develop strategies and specifications to improve the performance, usability and effectiveness of user interfaces.
• Ability to gather information from a variety of sources including client meetings, team collaboration, best practices, heuristic analysis and competitive analyses and then develop site maps and user interface diagrams to illustrate the layout, flow and organization of websites and web enabled applications.
• Facilitate Usability Testing and determine how best to integrate these findings into the site architecture and the user interface.
• Hands on design of navigation and interaction including flows, wireframes and sitemaps.
• Experience with usability testing including writing scripts, running focus groups, survey and remote session testing.
• Expert knowledge of usability best practices and accessibility issues, including 508 compliance.
• Expert skills with Visio and other UI design tools; Axure experience a plus
• Understanding of HTML/XHTML, CSS, cross browser issues, .NET, JavaScript, JQuery, etc.
• Experience with Content Management Systems.
