Industrial Designer

Our electronic client is seeking an Industrial Designer. This candidate is tasked with designing and developing innovative and quality products that will uphold the client's brand and the award-winning reputation.

What you will do each day:

•Collaborate with cross-function team members such as Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales to develop innovative products

•Ensure product development objectives and timelines are met as well as establishing proper communication levels to achieve maximum success

•Maintain and evolve the product design language and brand through industrial design

•Strive to create inspiring designs that challenge the market place, while developing around manufacturing and financial constraints

•Develop products through conceptual sketching, 2D Renderings, 3D model studies and computer software

•Immerse themselves in 2D and 3D computer processes (Alias or other 3D software) and in preparation of tech kits and preliminary documentation to create soft/hard goods products for development in Asia

•Adhere to the established budgets and timelines communicated by the Design Director and Senior Industrial Design Staff

Their ideal candidate will have the relentless drive and fearlessness to innovate and design products that are “out-of-the-box” yet, still seen as solutions to our consumers and their lifestyles. We are seeking an individual that will have the natural ability to lead and influence by providing a clear design vision and strategy for success.

Characteristics of prospective talent:
•Ability to communicate the product’s design to engineering staff, merchandisers, developers and manufacturers

•Possess a clear understanding of the (especially in mobile devices) marketplace, competition, industry, etc… to ensure optimal industrial design value is achieved

•Passion to strive to learn and adapt to emerging production processes and new software

•Capability to learn to develop products utilizing research and marketing information through prototype and production

The successful individual must be a team player with a collaborative spirit and have the ability to navigate relationships and processes within a matrix organization; collaboration is the key to their success. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, as is the ability to be extremely detail-oriented, think creatively and work efficiently under tight deadlines.

•Four-year college degree in Industrial Design
•2+ years experience in a similar role, working in a fast-paced environment
•Competence in a variety of 2D and 3D software.
