IT Project Manager

Our Seattle client needs an IT Project Manager to support medium to large cross-divisional technology projects. Responsibilities for this role include:

• Develop project plans, charters and schedules that support customer needs
• Work with customers and business units to define the objectives, scope and project deliverables
• Negotiate with organizational management to obtain required project resources
• Monitor project schedule, cost and progress to ensure projects are completed on time and fulfill the objectives of the project charter
• Work with IT PM, Technical Lead, and IT team to breakdown high-level work packages into a detailed work breakdown structure.
• Develop and apply understanding of overall project methodology and plan to detailed work planning, monitoring, and management.
• Create, manage, maintain, and publish detailed project schedule in MS Project based on WBS
• Participate in daily project stand up meetings to track progress and review upcoming work.
• Work with Technical Lead and IT Team to assign tasks, identify issues and blocks to task completion, and assess potential changes to WBS and detailed work plan.
• Work with Program Manager, IT PM, and Technical Lead to identify: risks related to detailed task completion and their potential mitigation, and issues related to detailed task completion and any potential corrective actions.
• Communicate project status to participants and stakeholders in writing as well as in formal presentations
• Ensure that all project documentation is completed accurately and on time
• Organize meetings with various work teams to collect and disseminate project information, plan and schedule tasks and resources, generate timelines, and structure a process for consensus and individual commitment for deliverables
• Brings out the best in team members by setting clear expectations and building a sense of purpose and energy
• Positive attitude and professionalism with a great attitude in high pressure situations
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 4 years as a Project Manager or equivalent experience required
• Experience in full lifecycle software project management, including all elements of scope, schedule, budgeting, risk evaluation, quality, integration, staffing, and communications required
• Experience in implementing hardware and/or software technologies in an enterprise computing environment, preferred
• Experience managing multiple mid-sized projects required
• Experience implementing projects involving process improvement principles and technology integration required
• Experience working with customers to define tasks and integrate business processes and technology into effective business solutions required
• Experience leading and mentoring teams required
• Knowledge of program and project management principles, practices, and tools required
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with business and technology groups, required
• Ability to lead complex program and project efforts to completion, required
• Ability to manage multiple objectives/tasks, required
• Ability to identify problems and collaboratively develop alternatives for resolution, required
