INVENTORY PLANNER, MEN’S WOVENS AND PANTS
START DATE: AUGUST 1, 2016
CONTRACT: 5 MONTHS (POSSIBLE CONTRACT TO HIRE)
LOCATION: SAN FRANCISCO
PAY: $22 - $26/HOUR

** OUR FORTUNE 500 RETAIL CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR AN INVENTORY PLANNER FOR THEIR MEN’S WOVENS TEAM **

SUMMARY:
The inventory planner will create and manage sales and inventory plans from investment through allocation at the product / category / item level. The planner is also responsible for ensuring that the development and management of assortment, demand and inventory plans achieve divisional financial goals.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

FINANACIAL PLANNING – PRE SEASON
• Develop and build department / class/ style level financial and investment plans that support and balance the division’s product and financial strategies
• Oversee sizing and packing strategies that support department and divisional objectives (in collaboration with Inventory Management Analysts)
• Manage the reconciliation of class-to-department bottoms-up plans to ensure inventory is being funded appropriately

PLAN MANAGEMENT – IN SEASON
• Manage and assess inventory plans from investment through allocation with reliable recapping and strategic suggestions aimed at maximizing the business
• Ensure receipt accuracy to support in-season allocation strategies
• Oversee and approve initial inventory releases (in collaboration with Inventory Management Analysts)
• Strategize, recommend and execute in-season pricing strategies including promotions and markdowns
• Responsible for driving open-to-buy activities at department/class level
• Forecast in-season sales and inventory and develop strategies to maximize opportunities and mitigate risk

BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT - SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS
• Develop monthly forecasts of sales and inventory for basics managed through demand forecasting and vendor management tools, as required
• Participate in and give feedback about responsive inventory initiatives, with end goal of championing innovative ways of getting the right product to customer faster

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 2-4 years work experience preferred
• Analytical Skills: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
• Problem solving and decision quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
• Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
• Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action
• Presentation skills: Effective in a variety of presentation settings including one-on-one, small and large groups, and with peers and bosses
• Financial and business acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math
• Systems and tools acumen: Proficiency in Excel, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
• Process management: Able to create and organize work and processes to get things done in the most efficient manner
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
