Hybrid Visual/Interaction Designer

Do you enjoy creating delightful designs? If so, our client, a major global retailer, is looking to bring on a talented Visual/Interaction Designer to help redefine their shopping, search and service experiences. The Visual / UX Designer will drive inventive user-centered design. In this role, you'll be working on a global brand in a full design & development team, solving UX and design problems from the product/software development perspective. To be successful in this role, it's essential you have the following skills: - Experience working on complex websites - Familiarity with responsive design techniques - Strong Visualization and Prototyping skills - User-Centered Design methodologies

NO C2C

TRANSACTIONAL design & Information Architecture experience HIGHLY DESIRED!

YOU: RETAIL or Agency experience preferred / CLEAN/MODERN PORTFOLIO DESIRED
ecommerce OR retail OR TRANSACTIONAL design (ie. purchasing an airline/hotel booking OR shopping)

- Strong Visuals: look & feel
- IA background preferred
- Strong problem solving skills
- Mobile/responsive design experience is highly desired

Skills You’ll Have:
• Strong tendency towards visual thinking – using techniques like storyboards and sketching – to communicate interaction design concepts.
• Strong understanding of design theory and concepts to create effective visual communication with hierarchy and balance (E.g. Typography, color, space, contrast)
• The ability to work with design templates and patterns to create and maintain a scalable and consistent web site.
• Familiarity with process flows, site maps, wireframes, screen prototypes, and functional specifications.
• Ability to manage your time and deadlines, as well as the ability to adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the eCommerce business.
• Constant drive to stay up-to-date with the latest industry news and developments.
• Capability to adhere to team processes and standards, while contributing ideas for improvement.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing a consistently high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with business requirement gathering, site assessment, competitive analysis, and secondary research.
• Inclusive design philosophy with a strong editorial sense. You gather feedback judiciously, but know when to adjust your designs and when to follow your initial vision.


Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to Visual Communications, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Writing, or related field • Ability to assess and interpret client needs and end user needs (e.g., business requirements, product roadmap, and end user research)
