Human Resources Generalist

Provide specialized expertise in several human resource functional areas and ensure the consistent administration of all Corporate, Division, Federal and State personnel policies, procedures and programs. This includes the management/completion of projects identified to support business objectives. Advances National Oilwell Varco's goal of treating employees fairly with dignity and concern.

Major Responsibilities:

Supervise and participate in the administration of employee benefit, orientation, performance appraisal, recreation and other programs, adhering to all company practices and legal guidelines.

Counsel and coach managers and employees to further company business objectives. Perform investigations where appropriate and insure closeout of all required documentation in a timely manner.

Initiates and completes projects and programs of diverse scope and complexity that support needed business initiatives. Heavy interface with the management team is required to independently identify opportunities.

Increases employee commitment and maintains positive employee relations by initiating actions and/or processes that improve overall communication, problem resolution and teamwork.

Monitor the climate of the organization and keep management advised of potential employee relations problems responding to organizational needs promptly, eliminating the need for third party representation

Primarily independently leads the work team in staffing, AAP process/goals, and merit budget/planning process.
