Human Factors Engineer - Mid Level

Global technology brand is looking for a Human Factors Engineer for a 1-year contract. The ideal candidate will have experience with user-centered design of consumer products and usability evaluations at various stages of product development, with back ground of user research. He/she will have experience with effectively negotiating interactions with various stake holders such as designers, engineers, and business development. It is inevitable to have good visual presentation skill such as Flash, PhotoShop, PowerPoint for quick prototyping for internal discussions and/or negotiation with related groups.

Responsibilities:
Primarily
1. Conduct user research to examine and understand user’s needs
2. Design user experiments and collect/analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
3. Plan and conduct usability studies to evaluate new and existing products, and making constructive suggestions for change.
4. Conduct benchmarking studies of competitor products from a human interface standpoint.
5. Coordinate and/or conduct user test, analyze the result and report

Secondary
1. Generate creative ideas and solutions
2. Generate scenarios and use cases to build information archtecutre.
3. Communicate with different teams and individuals, including marketing, product planners, hardware and software engineers, GUI designers, QA to define product user interface specifications
4. Mock up paper and Flash prototypes
5. Create user interface design specification documents.

Desired Skills:
• Ability to focus on the customer’s needs
• Experience with interaction design/user-centered design principles
• Familiarity with UI industry standards for interface design
• User testing methodologies
• Experience with statistical analysis of user research
• Working knowledge of documentation tool for specification documents
• Ability to work independently and efficiently on complex projects
• Ability to deliver high quality work on tight schedules
• Careful attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate and work as a team
• Understanding for multi cultures

Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, interaction design or graphic design with demonstrated experience in an equivalent field min of 5 years
• Demonstrated experience with developing user-friendly interfaces for embedded systems and consumer products is desirable but not required
• Basic knowledge and hands on experience on, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Portfolio showing relevant samples

You must be available to work onsite during business hours.
