Holy Cow! Is that a Flying Lizard? Actually, we just need a Technical Writer

Now that I have your attention, I am looking for a strong Technical Writer with a business analyst’s flair. Is that you? Before you answer, let me give you some further information.

We have a client in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who has been around for 155 years. Yeah, that’s a long time, so they must know what they are doing. It is a premier place to work, even as a contract employee. This is an on-going assignment with no set end date. You will be a W2, hourly employee of Aquent during this time. We do have health and dental benefits from which you may choose.

So, with those particulars out of the way, let’s get down to brass tacks.

Here is what you will do:
You will put together a standard model for our client to build their Information Technology
Operations & Infrastructure sites on SharePoint. You will need to gather requirements for use of these SharePoint sites, (identify the information each site needs to provide, who the majors users are, what the public/private facing data needs are), recommend standards to best optimize information sharing, and provide a plan for what needs to be moved and to where.

Piece of cake!

Here is what you need to have:
• The ability to document business process and write detailed functional requirements.
• Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills (handling a jillion tasks at once).
• Finding a needle in a hay stack, which means gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources.
• Great presentation skills, particularly where technical information must be conveyed in a clear and convincing way.
• Knowing your way around SharePoint would be most helpful, since you will be spending a lot of time with it.
