Head of Social Media and Content

As the leader of the Social Media team, the Head of Social will be responsible for developing and executing the social strategy across the business. In addition to driving continuous innovation in the use of social and identifying key customer/market trends to develop strategies to create opportunities, they will develop the social capability and drive the social change agenda.

Reporting into our Head of Communications, this is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a demonstrable track record of success in a similar role, within a large, matrix organisation, who is looking for an opportunity to drive the development and growth of the social media journey within this industry leading organisation.

The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Developing and executing our clients social media strategy across the business
• Driving continuous innovation in the use of social media, challenging conventional approaches and methods
• Identifying key customer and market trends and impacts, and developing strategies to create opportunities and deliver growth
• Sharing knowledge of industry best practices and encouraging collaboration in a cross-functional team
• Driving the social change agenda throughout the business to build understanding and engagement with employees
• Working closely with employees and executives to build their social media knowledge and develop social capability
• Developing innovative social campaigns that strengthen our clients reputation, and drive brand awareness and advocacy
• Integrating and amplifying content across social and other channels

The key skills required for this role include the following:
• Degree educated within Marketing, Communications or a similar discipline
• Significant experience within senior marketing and communications roles
• Demonstrable experience within writing and publishing in social channels
• Experience in working collaboratively with multiple departments to achieve a common goal
• Experience in developing innovative social campaigns and a track record of driving successful campaigns using social channels
• A high level of business acumen and the ability to understand strategic initiatives whilst getting 'buy-in' from the wider organisation
• Experience of and ability to lead teams and individuals and drive change agendas across a matrix organisation
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
• Strong presentation and persuasive communication skills
