Head of Interaction Design

You should have a deep understanding of design thinking, responsive design, and best practices for creating rich experiences on web, iOS, and Android.

You have a passion for product strategy, and inspiring teams.

You are highly UX oriented with extensive experience creating compelling, end­-to-­end experiences for consumers. You have good visually, even though this is a secondary element in this role.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to provide simple, elegant, and intuitive solutions based on customer feedback, metrics, user personas, business objectives and brand guidelines. You will conceptualize, storyboard, wireframe, prototype, and deliver intuitive flows ­ as well as crafting pixel perfect mockups across all platforms seamlessly.

You have a well­-thought out viewpoint about how branding, communication, and visual design influence buyer decisions and contribute to product success.
You are a strategic thinker who can provide and receive constructive, critical feedback.
You will lead and evolve the Client's products’ user experience.
You’ll collaboratively iterate with the design team and effectively articulate design
choices to product management and engineering.

Day to day, you will:
● Focus on interaction design: Own the product design process from understanding complex problems to creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes (e.g describing app animations and transitions).
● Create stunning, simple and meaningful end­-to-­end user experiences for new and existing web, iOS and Android products.
● Provide sliced assets at appropriate sizes to developers for iOS and Android apps and the web, including typography, layout, imagery, and iconography consistent with Client's brand.
● Give and receive feedback and seek it out in reviews with peers, stakeholders and research. You can balance multiple, sometimes conflicting inputs when arriving at a final visual design.
● Contribute to the creation, adoption and improvement of Client's design patterns and guidelines, and help shepherd their consistent implementation.
● Be responsible for bringing consistency to a range of existing products that currently have varied visual styles. Unite the brand!


Qualifications:
● Excellent portfolio showcasing web as well as mobile app design experience.
● BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
● Demonstrated success as a visual designer working on various media project types and styles
● Art direction or experience as a visual/brand lead preferred.
● Solid visual design expertise in typography, layout, color, and brand systems
● Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign) OR Sketch.
● Proficiency in Invision, Keynote, powerpoint is useful.
● Must be self-­motivated to prioritize and manage workload, hire contractors for support, and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.
● Must have passion for creative excellence, unbelievably great taste, love of design and a kick-­ass portfolio that speaks for itself.
● Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Inherent empathy for users and the ability to grasp how the various Client platforms and products interact with users and technically with each other.
● Ability to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast­ paced environment.
● Also experience in designing usable mobile interfaces from pre­ to post-­launch (2 consumer apps launched).

Additional Requirements:
● Portfolio needs to show applied knowledge of usability and user­-centered design.
● Portfolio should show strong capacity for both logical and creative thinking
displaying attention to detail in every aspect.

It would be advantageous if you had experience in one or more of the following:
● Experience in usability testing online and in the field would be a great benefit.
● Experience in designing for both business­-to-­consumer and business­-to-­business.
● Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript could come in very handy.
