HR Benefits Communications Associate

Communications Associate
(two tests will be given to candidates to take and submit with resume submission)

Under the direction of the Benefits Compliance Communication manager, the Communications Associate will provide assistance with written communications, and with targeted projects, for the development and dissemination of key program-wide and inter regional communication projects. The Communications Associate will participate in collaborative relations in Compliance Communications and other departments to advance communication projects. Must be able to assume responsibility for small discrete projects, work under supervision and manage workflow when reporting to the Benefits Compliance Communications manager.

1. Core project defined by recruiting manager. In some instances, graduate level training or equivalent work experience may be desirable.
2. Write and edit content for Benefits Compliance Communications and projects including items for Summaries of Material Modification and Summary Plan Descriptions and other forms of internal communication in support of the department’s strategic communications initiatives.
3. Assist programs and projects initiated by the Benefits Compliance Communications manager and allied staff as assigned.

Scope of the project: General compliance communications tasks (no specific project).

Top 3 preferred skills: Knowledge of InDesign, Microsoft Project software, knowledge of employee benefits

Top 5 daily responsibilities:
(1) Researching and gathering benefits information based on plan documents, Summaries of Material modification documents, etc., and creating spreadsheets using Excel
(2) Updating existing compliance communications materials
(3) Maintaining project logs
(4) Coordinating fulfillment of projects with vendors for the mailing of compliance communications
(5) Assisting with projects as needed, such as Summaries of Benefits and Coverage documents, Summary Plan Descriptions, etc.

Desired skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Soft Skills: Organized; able to work under pressure and tight deadlines; able to work independently; attention to detail.

Top 3 preferred personality traits: Able to follow directions; team player; quick learner; have common sense.

Educational Requirement: Bachelors in HR, Business Administration, Management, Communications, or any other relevant field.

Minimum number of years of experience required: 2-3 years

# of team members: Five

You will have no direct reports

This role is not slated to convert to FTE.

Interview process will be face to face to offer.

No remote work, contractor needs to be on site.
