Exceptional opportunity for highly experienced data scientist to join one of Australia's leading retailers. Our client is looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual to be part of the Group's evolution and support each brand to realise their full potential.

To support the Group's growing CRM function we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and analytically-minded customer insights expert. Reporting to the Group Loyalty and Insights Manager, this newly created role will provide market and customer insights to the brands and the overall business, to identify risks and opportunities to drive marketshare, profitability and growth.

The responsibilities of this role will also include;

Utilising company and externally sourced data to conduct customer behavioural and attitudinal analytics, predictive modelling, customer profiling, cross channel and category market mix modelling, loyalty return on investment analysis to address business questions and identify growth/performance opportunities
Developing a group segmentation model and articulate nuances for individual brands
Designing standard reporting, quarterly reviews and data visualisation for the brands and the group
Identifying unique opportunities to collect new data and mine existing data
Keeping abreast of global and local markets to identify trends and advise on their likely influence on the consumer
Support Loyalty team to apply customer insights in the design of marketing initiatives, campaigns and loyalty program structures
Work with research suppliers to develop and execute quantitative research that drive business outcomes
Support the development of robust business cases with customer/marketplace analysis
Undertake management responsibly of a small team of Data Analysts
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in a similar role within a large fast-paced environment, preferably retail. You will have the ability to leverage both structured and unstructured data sources, design new processes and build large, complex data sets. Your proven business acumen will allow you to apply techniques and insights in a practical way within a business environment.

You will have extensive experience with statistical methodologies and tools i.e. SAS, SPSS, and predictive modeling. Advanced knowledge of database technologies and SQL language for querying and manipulating datasets, along with extensive exposure to data warehousing concepts including data integration and data warehouse objects would be highly regarded.
