Graphic Textile-Pattern Designer - Senior

A fortune 500 athletic apparel/footwear company is seeking a Graphic Textile/Print Designer to join their team.

Duties:

This person will create textile prints for company products based on global textile strategy; signed off by Senior Design Leadership.

This position will work in the Textile Print/Pattern Design team. This position will be mainly focused on apparel textiles, (all over prints). The textile prints will be used across various categories that include Sportswear, Women's Training, Men's Training, Running & Tennis. The prints are directly linked to the seasonal creative direction set by Design Leadership. The prints created may also directly influence the Footwear Textile Designer. Other duties may include creating "repeats" for development, tools for presentation and reviews, communication with the Development Team.

Required knowledge/experience:

- Dialed into color and trends through fashion, art, and science.
- Strong understanding of textile technology and how to achieve desired textile print effects through materials, dyes, finishes, color achievability, burnout, screen printing, sublimation, deboss, etc.
- Strong understanding of merchandising a collection.
- Interest in sport and athletes.
- Strong knowledge of sport brands.
- Ability to work with Print Developers, Category Leads, and Design teams.
- Ability to lead and influence others to deliver relevant information with confidence while building a strong network of relationships.

Required Skills:

- Excellent Adobe CS skills.
- Product Textile Design education or years of experience.
- Strong understanding of repeat patterns, screen printing, and materials.
- Knowledge of NED Graphics for textiles is a plus but no mandatory.

Timing:

The Designer would be working on textile prints for SPSU16 Apparel. If the candidate is a good fit, there is possibility that this position would be converted to full-time.

Who Should Not Apply:

A Graphic Designer with only Brand Design experience would not be a good fit for this position. Must have some textile print and product knowledge.
