Graphic Designer (part-time)

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent, high quality corporate image in the marketplace through creative and innovative graphic design. The candidate must manage the design and production of a variety of projects that effectively convey complex and technical concepts and messages that support Client's distribution products and services. The proper use of the Client branding guidelines, design concepts and appropriate use of healthcare imagery is essential. This position serves as an independent contributor.

Key Responsibilities
1. Design online and graphic design collateral for Corporate Marketing’s Internal Communications customers including electronic and print design including but not limited to web sites, online graphics, brochures, invitations, promotional items, and more within budget, on time and best-in-class.
2. Serve in a consultative capacity and guide internal clients from conceptualization of project through the end design and execution.
3. Design and prepare files for print, posting to online, intranet or corporate internet site.
4. Manage technical aspect of producing materials from conceptual stage to completion, including preparing files, confirming printer specifications and attending press checks as needed.
5. Manage outside agencies / vendors to achieve proper design and layout, and procure software needed for design and production (i.e. print shops, software vendors, image repositories, etc.)
6. Help define and implement procedures and processes that streamline Corporate Marketing’s operations, (i.e. SharePoint online hub, project nomenclature, workflow processes, etc.)

Minimum Job Qualifications
• Education / Training – 4-year BA degree in graphic design or equivalent
• 4-6 years graphic design experience required
• 2-4 years HTML or web experience desirable
• Experience using a Content Management System

Business Experience
• 8+ years experience in a professional environment using Macintosh and Windows platforms for desktop publishing
• Must have the ability to effectively multi-task projects, prioritize and meet deadlines within budget
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Superior project management skills and ability to work effectively and be a strong contributor in a team environment
• Strong proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Keynote

Specialized Knowledge/Skills
• Excellent design, layout and typography skills
• Strong understanding of graphic design principles
• Understanding of Web languages with the ability to edit
• Obsessive attention to detail and an eye for consistency
• Strong organizational, visualization and conceptualization skills
• Persuasive written and verbal communications abilities
• Strong understanding of navigation and usability issues

Working Conditions
• Environment – office, press checks, design workshops, conferences and trade shows

Physical Requirements
• Sitting at desk, use of computer and mouse
