Graphic Designer (Print/Retail Displays)

The Graphic Designer is responsible for generating strong design and concepts that promote the brand identity and enhance the overall brand's experience for the customer throughout all channels.   The Graphic Designer will be focused more on packaging, print, visual merchandising design for holiday promotions. The Creative Director would also ideally like this Designer to be familiar with video (motion graphics).  The Graphic Designer will be working on 5 annual promotions for the brand's major beauty retail partners as well as 2 annual Department Store promotions and an annual Holiday promotion.  This is a 3-6+ month contract position, on-site as a W2 Hourly Employee. Health benefits and 401K are also provided.    

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·       Concepts visual presentations by designing art and copy layout as assigned.
·       When presenting work, shows preparation, understanding of audience, and clearly articulates creative approach and intent in relation to the brief.
·       Plans concept by studying information and materials as provided in Creative Brief.
·       Illustrates concept by designing layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, as well as, related aesthetic concepts.
·       Obtains approval of concept by submitting layout(s) for revisions and rounds incorporating all input and feedback in two-way dialogue while maintaining design integrity.
·       Prepares finished copy and art, printing and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors as needed.
·       Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
·       Contributes to team effort by accomplishing assigned projects across multi-channel marketing department.
·       Ability to elevate creative work within assigned team and projects collaborating with team on design.
·       Understands, delivers on and can articulate the requirement of the brief.
·       Oversees the accuracy and timely completion of their own work.
·       Photography, social media content development, package design, print and web production  

QUALIFICATIONS
·       3-5 years professional experience in Creative Services environment
·       Computer Skills include: Adobe Creative Suite, Outlook, Microsoft Office
·       Experience in Final Cut Pro/Adobe Premiere and Motion Graphics a plus 
·       Strong attention to detail and deadline oriented.
·       Awareness of design, lifestyle and cultural trends with a strong design aesthetic.
·       Must be able to make decisions independently on a day to day basis. Must elevate to management if it impacts more than this brand or business.
·       Ability to communicate effectively, presenting concepts both orally and in writing
·       Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
·       Highly skilled at organization and attention to detail
·       Ability to prioritize, work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure
·       Positive attitude and a capacity to learn / adapt quickly
·       Ability to work in a team oriented environment and work independently.
